85% state quota seats. Each state has its own authority. In Jharkhand, it is conducted by JCECEB.

Private deemed medical universities conduct their own counselling. Fees are higher.

Round 1 - AIQ Seat Allotment
First actual allotment. Accept the seat and report, or withdraw for the next round.

Round 2 - Upgrade/Fresh Allotment
If seat was not allotted in Round 1 or you want a better seat - participate fresh.
MU
Mop-Up Round
For remaining vacant seats. Only for students who could not participate in earlier rounds.
SV
Stray Vacancy Round
Last chance for seats remaining after mop-up. Walk-in counselling is conducted.
Tip: Participate in Round 1 - even if you don't get a seat, better options may be available in Round 2 and Mop-Up. Register in all rounds.

Step-by-Step Counselling Process

Check NEET Result

Check your result, rank, and percentile on neet.nta.nic.in. Download and save your scorecard.

Note down both AIR (All India Rank) and Category Rank - both are important.

MCC Registration (mcc.nic.in)

Register on the MCC website for AIQ seats. Login with your NEET Roll Number and Date of Birth. Pay the registration fee.

The MCC registration deadline is very short - it usually closes just 2-3 days after the result is announced.

State Counselling Registration

Also register with your home state's counselling authority. For Jharkhand, visit jceceb.nic.in. Domicile certificate is mandatory.

Choice Filling - College Preference

Fill in your preferred medical colleges. For MBBS, BDS, AYUSH - choose colleges separately for each course. Fill maximum choices.

Put government colleges first, then private. Let our counsellors help you fill optimal choices based on your rank.

Check Seat Allotment Result

Allotment result will be available on mcc.nic.in. Check your allotted college, course, and category.

Seat Accept + Fee Payment

Accept the seat and pay the online seat acceptance fee. For government college: Rs. 10,000-30,000. More for private.

If you miss the deadline, your seat is automatically cancelled - no second chance!

Document Verification

Upload documents online. Document verification is mandatory before physically reporting to the allotted college.

College Reporting - Admission Complete

Report to the allotted medical college with original documents. Also submit medical fitness certificate and anti-ragging undertaking.

Expert Tips - NEET Counselling Strategy

Register in Both Counsellings

Register in both MCC (AIQ) and State counselling. Invest in fees - you will get a seat in one of them. Participating in both gives you the best option.

Prioritise Government Colleges

Do MBBS from a government college - fees are Rs. 50,000-2 lakh. Private can cost Rs. 50 lakh - 1.5 crore. Fill choices like this: dream govt college + safe govt college + private college.

Use State Quota

If you have Jharkhand domicile, chances of getting government colleges like RIMS Ranchi and PMCH Dhanbad are higher through JCECEB state counselling. State quota cutoff is lower than AIQ.

Don't Skip Mop-Up Round

Many students drop out of counselling after Round 1-2. Mop-Up Round brings surprise seats - even a good government college can become available. Keep participating.
