Post-matric scholarship (11th through higher education) for Scheduled Caste students. Covers maintenance allowance + tuition fee. Hostel residents receive a higher amount. Parents' income must be less than ₹2.5 lakh.

Post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students. ST students receive slightly more than SC students. Additional support is available for professional courses (Engineering, Medical, Law). The income limit is ₹2.5 lakh per annum.

Scholarship for students from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC). Income limit is lower than SC/ST — parents' income must be less than ₹1.5 lakh.

All category students who score 60% or more in the Jharkhand board can apply. This is a merit-based scholarship — regardless of caste, you need good marks. 75%+ attendance in college is required for renewal.

At IITs and NITs, tuition fee becomes ZERO if family income is below ₹1 lakh. For income between ₹1-5 lakh, a 2/3 fee waiver is available. Applied automatically in JoSAA based on JEE rank + income certificate. NIT Jamshedpur also offers the benefit of the Jharkhand state quota.

BIT Mesra awards scholarships to its students based on JEE rank. Top JEE ranks (under 10,000) receive the maximum scholarship. Renewal is available on maintaining performance in college.
