Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good JEE Main percentile for NIT admission in 2026?
For top NITs (Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal), you need 98.5%+ percentile for CS branch in OPEN category. For NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Patna, 96%+ percentile is generally sufficient for CS. For other branches like Mechanical and Civil, 93–95% percentile may be adequate.
How to convert JEE Main marks to rank?
First convert marks to percentile using the NTA normalization table, then use the formula: Rank = 14,00,000 × (1 − Percentile/100). For example, 87.65 percentile gives approximately rank 1,72,900. Our predictor does this calculation automatically.
What rank is needed for NIT Jamshedpur Computer Science?
Based on JoSAA 2025 data, NIT Jamshedpur CS Opening Rank is approximately 8,500 and Closing Rank is 14,000 for OPEN category. For OBC-NCL, the closing rank is around 7,500. Home state (Jharkhand) quota gives additional advantage with lower cutoffs.
