MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is a 5.5-year professional medical degree including one year of mandatory rotational internship. It is the primary medical qualification for practicing as a doctor in India. The curriculum covers pre-clinical subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, followed by clinical subjects including medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, and community medicine.
