About This Course

BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) is a 5.5-year professional degree including one year of mandatory internship. Unani medicine is a traditional system based on Greek and Islamic medical philosophy using herbs, minerals, and dietary therapy. Students study Unani principles, Ilmul Advia (pharmacology), Moalijat (therapeutics), anatomy, and surgery. BUMS graduates practice as Unani physicians, work in government Unani hospitals, or run private clinics. The Central Council of Indian Medicine regulates this profession. Graduates can pursue MD (Unani) for specialization. Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum 50% marks.
