About This Course

MS in General Surgery is a 3-year foundational postgraduate surgical program training doctors in abdominal surgery, emergency surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and trauma care. It is also the mandatory prerequisite for super-specialty MCh programs in cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, and urology. General surgeons are essential in all hospitals performing appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder surgeries, and cancer resections. Career opportunities exist in government hospitals, private hospitals, and private practice. Laparoscopic and robotic surgery skills significantly enhance career scope. Eligibility requires MBBS with competitive NEET-PG rank as surgery seats are highly competitive.
