Aspiring doctors in Punjab, here is your Round-3 update! Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released the revised schedule for the 3rd Round of Online Punjab State Counselling for UG Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) admissions under NEET UG-2026. In this post, we break down the dates, fees, security deposits, eligibility rules and common mistakes to avoid, all in one place.

Key deadline: Fresh registration, application fee payment, willingness and security deposit must all be completed between 28.09.2026 and 02.10.2026. Candidates who miss the willingness or security deposit deadline will not be considered for Round-3.

Round-3 Revised Schedule at a Glance

Who Needs to Register Afresh?

You must register/apply afresh, pay the registration fee and deposit the security amount, if you fall into any of these groups:

1. You are applying for the 3rd Round for the very first time.
2. You were allotted a seat in Round-2 (fresh or upgraded) but did not join it. You must also deposit the security amount again.
3. Your Round-2 allotment was cancelled during document verification or reporting (for example, due to a change in category or any other reason), you remain eligible for further counselling, and your security amount was forfeited. You may be considered against the changed category, subject to seat availability and the rules.
4. You resigned or surrendered your Round-1 seat after the free exit date and do not currently hold any seat.

Note: Candidates who did not join or who resigned from their Round-2 seat must register afresh and deposit the security amount again, as applicable.

Who Does NOT Need to Register Again?

• Candidates already registered who were not allotted any seat in Round-1 or Round-2.
• Candidates already registered who are holding a seat from Round-1 or Round-2 and remain eligible for Round-3.

If you already paid the security deposit in Round-2 and did not get a seat, you do not have to pay it again. However, you must still submit your willingness for Round-3 through the University Payment Gateway within the stipulated time.

Who Is Eligible for Seat Allotment in Round-3?

Only candidates who submit their willingness are eligible, and they fall into these four groups:

• Group I: Registered candidates who received no seat in Round-1 or Round-2.
• Group II: Candidates whose Round-2 allotment was cancelled during document verification/reporting (category change or other reason), who remain eligible after forfeiture of the security amount.
• Group III: Candidates who reported at their Round-2 college and submitted willingness for upgradation in Round-3.
• Group IV: Candidates who were allotted a Round-2 seat but did not join and surrendered it after forfeiture of the security amount.

Not Eligible for Round-3 Allotment

• Candidates who no longer meet the eligibility criteria or submitted inadequate or invalid documents.
• Candidates who have not registered in Round-1, Round-2 or Round-3, as applicable.
• Candidates otherwise ineligible under the Government of Punjab notification, counselling rules or University instructions.
• Candidates who have already joined a seat through All India counselling. They will be excluded from the state allotment when the final result is declared.

Fees and Security Deposit

All payments must be made through the University Payment Gateway only.

Registration / Application Fee (Fresh Applicants)

Security Deposit for Willingness

Candidates opting for both Government and Private colleges must deposit the full Rs. 2,00,000.

Want to Change Your Willingness?

If you wish to move from "Government Colleges only" to "Government & Private Colleges" or "Private Colleges only", you must pay the differential security amount, if any. The revised willingness takes effect only after the payment succeeds and the revised willingness is submitted within the prescribed time.

NRI Quota Candidates

The last date to submit the Admission Application Form under the NRI Quota is 01.10.2026 (up to 02:00 PM). Keep in mind that the application form for the Eligibility Certificate and the Admission Application Form for NRI candidates are two separate forms, both available on the University website.

Minority Quota Candidates

Candidates applying under the Sikh Minority or Christian Minority Quota must report on 03.10.2026 (up to 03:00 PM) to the respective institution for verification of minority status:

• Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Amritsar (Sikh Minority)
• Christian Minority Medical College, Ludhiana (Christian Minority)

If your minority status was already verified in Round-1 or Round-2, you do not need to report again. If you registered under the Minority Quota earlier but could not get verified, you may report now to participate in Round-3.

Resigning or Surrendering a Joined Seat

Candidates who joined a seat in Round-1 or Round-2 and want to surrender it can do so up to 02.10.2026 (02:00 PM), with forfeiture of the security deposit.

Important: The surrender/resignation application must be submitted directly to the Principal of the respective college within the prescribed time. Applications sent to the University by e-mail, post or any other mode will not be accepted.

Merit List, Objections and Choice Filling

1. The provisional merit list is displayed on 04.10.2026.
2. Submit any objection by 05.10.2026, 04:00 PM. Objections received after the cut-off date and time will not be considered on any ground.
3. The merit list is updated on 05.10.2026 after considering objections.
4. Fill and submit your choices/preferences for course, college, quota and category on the online counselling portal on 06.10.2026 and 07.10.2026.

Choose carefully. Your willingness and choices must match the applicable security deposit and Round-3 rules, and they remain subject to your eligibility.

Seat Allotment and Result

• Seat allotment is processed on 08.10.2026 and 09.10.2026.
• The provisional result is displayed on 10.10.2026.
• Objections to the provisional allotment, along with supporting documents, must be submitted in person at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot by 11.10.2026, 03:00 PM. Objections sent by e-mail, post or any other mode will not be entertained.
• The final result is declared on 11.10.2026. As per the MCC Round-3 schedule, data of candidates who have joined All India counselling seats becomes available on 10.10.2026, so those candidates will be excluded before the final allotment.

Balance Fee Payment and Joining (12-14 October 2026)

Provisionally selected candidates must:

1. Pay the balance fee, which is six months' fee after adjusting the security deposit already paid, through the University Payment Gateway.
2. Report to the allotted college and complete the admission/joining formalities within the stipulated time.

Rules You Must Know Before You Join

• No exit after joining Round-3: Once you join the seat allotted in Round-3, you cannot surrender or resign from it, and you cannot participate in any further counselling round.
• BDS leftover seats: If there are not enough eligible candidates for BDS, candidates who are not eligible for the 85% state quota seats may be considered.
• Do not miss the willingness step: Even candidates already registered in earlier rounds must submit willingness (and security deposit, where applicable) by 02.10.2026.
