📋 Registration — General Instructions

  • Candidates registered for Round-1 who did not get a seat allotted are not required to register again. Candidates allotted but not joined in Round-1 also need not register again.
  • Candidates who joined and opted for upgradation in the College Portal need not register again — their seats will be shown as Virtual Vacancies for this round.
  • Candidates who joined and previously said "NO" to upgradation, but now wish to upgrade, must log in during the Registration Window to confirm participation in Round 2, so their seats are included as Virtual Vacancies. Failing to do so means they won't be eligible for upgradation.
  • Fresh registration is permitted in Round-II (with registration fee) for candidates who did not register in Round-1, provided they already applied to the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee and their names are in the published Merit List.
  • Candidates who wish to retain their current seat (no college change) need not participate in this round.
  • Candidates who joined and opted for upgradation but now wish to retain their seat need not participate in Choice Filling — their seat will be automatically retained.

⚙️ Process for Round 2

  • If a candidate opts for and is upgraded in Round 2, they must relinquish their Round-1 seat and join the Round-2 allotted seat — they will have no rights over the Round-1 seat.
  • Round-II choice filling follows registration; candidates wishing for upgradation, un-allotted candidates, and not-joined candidates must fill their choices.
  • Candidates should be careful during choice filling and are advised to choose preferred colleges only.
  • Choices can be edited, but once locked during online counselling, they cannot be changed later.
  • If re-allotted in Round 2, the candidate's Round-1 seat will be allotted to other candidates in descending order, not ascending order.
  • Candidates can discontinue the course before the stipulated resignation date (to be announced later) and remain eligible for subsequent 2026-2027 rounds.
  • If a candidate discontinues after the stipulated resignation date, they may attend Round-3 but will forfeit the registration fee and security deposit paid.
  • Candidates who participated in Round-2 but were allotted the same seat will be considered as RETAINED and must follow the same Round-2 rules.
  • Candidates freshly allotted in Round 2 who don't report/join can participate in further rounds without forfeiture — FREE EXIT.
  • Candidates upgraded in Round 2 will have no claim on their Round-1 seat, even if they don't report/join the Round-2 seat.
  • Vacancy position will be available on the official website. The Selection Committee is not responsible for connectivity or procedural errors.
  • Admission is made through online counselling based on rank, applying the rule of reservation.
  • Virtual Vacancies: A Round-1 allotted seat where the candidate opted for upgradation will be shown as a virtual vacancy in Round 2. It becomes a real vacancy only if the Round-1 candidate vacates/upgrades in Round 2.
  • All candidates should read the Prospectus thoroughly before choice filling and be careful while filling choices.
  • Choice Locking will be enabled only after 12-09-2026, 10:00 AM, since All India Quota results are likely to be declared on 11-09-2026.
  • If choices are not locked by the last date (13-09-2026, 2:00 PM), they will be automatically locked.

📥 Instructions for Downloading Allotment Order

  • Freshly allotted candidates for MBBS seats (all categories) and BDS seats in Government Dental Colleges must pay the Tuition Fee online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or RTGS) to download the Provisional Allotment Order (except as noted below).
  • SC/SCA/ST/SCC candidates allotted Govt. Quota and Management Quota seats are exempted from upfront fee payment if parental/guardian annual income is below ₹2.5 Lakhs (as per valid income certificate submitted earlier).
  • Selected candidates for BDS seats in Self-Financing Dental Colleges must pay the Tuition Fee directly at the college, as per G.O(D) No.868 Health and Family Welfare (MCA-1) Department dated 18.07.2023 and Notification No.010/SCS1(1)/2023 dated 19.07.2023.
  • Re-allotted candidates who already paid tuition fee in Round-I need only pay the difference (if any).
  • Fee structure is available at www.tnmedicalselection.org.
  • Candidates must ensure sufficient funds with an expanded credit/transaction limit while remitting the Tuition Fee.
  • Allotted/re-allotted candidates must download the provisional allotment order and join the concerned college/institution on or before the stipulated date and time.

🏫 Reporting to Allotted College

  • Certificate verification will be done at the selected colleges themselves.
  • Candidates must produce ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES in person at the time of joining, along with scanned copies for verification.
  • Failure to report to the Head of the Institution by the specified date/time will result in cancellation of selection/admission without further notice.
  • Candidates must submit a self-declaration form at the time of reporting, acknowledging liability for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts or misrepresentation is found at any time.
  • Candidates are advised to stay in touch with the official website for schedule updates, results, notices, and news — the Selection Committee will not individually contact candidates.
  • No communication will be sent directly to candidates — regular visits to the website are required for updates.
