Frequently Asked Questions
Career After 12th — FAQ
Answers to the most common questions students ask us every day.
What is the best career option after 12th PCM? +
B.Tech via JEE Main/Advanced is the most popular and rewarding choice for PCM students. IIT graduates in CS, AI, or Data Science earn Rs.20–80+ LPA at top companies. If you don't want engineering, BCA, B.Sc Data Science, NDA (Defence), Merchant Navy, or B.Arch are all excellent alternatives. Visit us for free personalised guidance.
Can a PCB student do engineering? +
Yes, but most B.Tech programs require Math as a core subject in Class 12. PCB students without Math are generally not eligible for engineering. However, PCB students can pursue BCA, B.Sc (IT/CS), B.Sc Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Biomedical Engineering if their college allows it. Check individual college eligibility before applying.
Is Commerce a good stream if I don't want to do CA? +
Absolutely. Commerce students have many options beyond CA — BBA + MBA (from IIM/XLRI), BBA LLB (Law), B.Com + ACCA/CFA (Global Finance), CS (Company Secretary), Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, and Investment Banking. The assumption that Commerce = CA is outdated. Many Commerce graduates earn more than CAs in investment banking and consulting.
Is Arts stream good for career in 2026? +
Yes, 100%. The Arts stream is extremely relevant in 2026. Law (CLAT), Civil Services (IAS/IPS), Journalism, UI/UX Design, Psychology, Hotel Management, Fashion Design, and Social Work are all booming fields. Arts students also tend to have stronger communication, analytical, and creative skills — which are valued in every industry.
What to do if I failed or got low marks in Class 12? +
Don't panic. First, improve your board score through compartment exam or repeat. Many diploma and vocational courses have lower eligibility requirements. You can also explore IGNOU open university programs, ITI courses, polytechnic diploma, and distance education. What courses are available in Bokaro / Jharkhand after 12th? +
Jharkhand has excellent options: BIT Mesra (Engineering), RIMS Ranchi (MBBS), BAU Ranchi (Agriculture), NIT Jamshedpur (Engineering), XLRI Jamshedpur (MBA), NIIT/APTECH (IT), and various B.Ed, BA, and B.Com colleges. Should I take a drop year for JEE or NEET? +
A drop year is worth it ONLY if you are committed and your gap score vs target score is genuinely achievable in one year. 30–40% of IIT/AIIMS admissions are from drop-year students. However, dropping more than once is generally not recommended. If you're not sure, speak with our counsellor first — we'll assess your potential honestly before you decide.
